Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has described President Bola Tinubu’s 66th Independence Day anniversary speech as a collection of empty promises, labeling the President as “fake.”

The President’s speech is nothing but a ‘Yahoo Yahoo’ promise to Nigerians. It is a collection of deceitful words designed to mask the reality of the suffering he has inflicted on the people. He is a fake leader who has no genuine interest in the welfare of the citizens.

Atiku, in a statement released on Thursday, criticized the President for failing to address the biting economic hardship, inflation, and insecurity that have characterized his administration. He argued that the “Age of Prosperity” promised by the President is a mirage that does not reflect the lived experience of the average Nigerian.

How can a leader talk about prosperity when Nigerians can barely afford to live? The cost of food, fuel, and basic services has skyrocketed under his watch, yet he continues to feed the people with rhetoric instead of results.

The former Vice President further accused the administration of lacking a clear economic roadmap, noting that the policies implemented so far have only served to deepen poverty and widen the inequality gap in the country.
