Tinubu’s drug allegation: Provide your evidence, Fani-Kayode challenges US firm

Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has challenged the United States-based lobbying firm, Von Batten-Montague-York, L.C., to provide concrete evidence to support its ongoing allegations regarding President Bola Tinubu’s purported involvement in drug trafficking.

Fani-Kayode described the allegation as false and challenged Von Batten to provide evidence to support the claim.

The challenge follows a series of heated exchanges on social media between Fani-Kayode and the firm’s managing partner, Karl Ikemefuna Von Batten. The firm has been actively pursuing Freedom of Information Act requests and related lawsuits seeking the release of US government records concerning the Nigerian president’s past.

Fani-Kayode, who has consistently defended the President against these claims, dismissed the firm’s narrative as a campaign of misinformation. He has further threatened to report the activities of the lobbyist to Nigerian security agencies, labeling the information being circulated as misleading.

The dispute has escalated significantly, with the lobbying firm recently alleging that Fani-Kayode has made threats of kidnapping and harm against its principal. The firm stated it is documenting these actions as potential transnational repression and is preparing to file a lawsuit against the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the former minister.
