Nigeria will intensify its leadership role in Africa, says Tinubu
President Bola Tinubu says Nigeria will intensify its leadership role in Africa to foster unity, peace, and prosperity on the continent.
Tinubu spoke on Thursday at the State House in Abuja while receiving the outgoing High Commissioner of the Republic of Sierra Leone to Nigeria, Rupert Sydney Dabor.
Nigeria will continue to play its leadership role in Africa, and we will do everything possible to ensure that our continent is united, peaceful, and prosperous. We are committed to working with our brothers and sisters across the continent to achieve these goals.
The president commended the outgoing envoy for his efforts in strengthening the bilateral relations between Nigeria and Sierra Leone during his tenure.
He noted that the two countries share a long history of cooperation and that his administration is committed to deepening the ties for the mutual benefit of their citizens.
In his remarks, Dabor thanked the president for the warm reception and the support he received from the Nigerian government during his stay in the country.
He expressed his appreciation for the leadership role Nigeria plays in the West African sub-region and the continent at large, adding that his country remains committed to the partnership with Nigeria.
