Her remains were discovered on Friday morning, a police source told SaharaReporters.

A female police officer attached to the Ogidi Division in Kwara State has been found dead after being kidnapped by unknown assailants.

The officer, identified as a Woman Inspector (W/INSPR) who served as a prosecutor in the division, was reportedly abducted on Thursday.

Her remains were discovered on Friday morning, a police source told SaharaReporters.

It was gathered that the officer was kidnapped and killed in the Oloje area of Ilorin, Kwara State.

SaharaReporters obtained a disturbing video showing the officer’s lifeless body in a bush.

Details surrounding her abduction and killing remain unclear as of press time, but SaharaReporters learnt that the incident has sparked tension within the area.

Kwara State has been grappling with rising incidents of banditry, killings, and kidnappings, forcing many residents to abandon their communities.

Earlier on Friday, SaharaReporters reported that terror gripped Idofin Odo-Ase, a once peaceful community in the Oke Ero Local Government Area, after armed terrorists launched a deadly attack on Thursday, killing at least three people and sending residents fleeing in fear.

SaharaReporters obtained gory videos and photos showing the slain victims, two shot and one other stabbed, during the violent invasion that has again thrown the entire Kwara South axis into panic.

Witnesses told SaharaReporters that the gunmen stormed the community in the evening, shooting sporadically and attacking residents in their homes before escaping into nearby forests.

“They came suddenly, shooting and shouting. We ran into the bush, but three people were killed instantly,” a resident said.

“People are leaving the community this morning because we don’t know if they will come back.”

The community source added that no security operatives arrived during or after the assault.

“We didn’t see police or soldiers. The killers moved freely,” he said.

“Everyone is scared. Families are packing their belongings and running to nearby towns.”

In a similar report, SaharaReporters reported how bandits stormed Efagi village, under the Lafiagi Emirate in the Edu Local Government Area of Kwara State, earlier on Friday.

The bandits kidnapped a man and his wife and injured a local vigilante.

The brazen attack, which occurred between 1 a.m. and 2 a.m., underscores the ongoing security challenges facing rural communities in the region.

According to a resident who spoke to NupekoTV Lafiagi, the assailants opened fire indiscriminately as they entered the village.

During the chaos, the couple was forcibly taken from their home, while a member of the local vigilante group, who tried to fend off the attackers, was injured.

The situation prompted a rapid response from the Nigerian Army, with troops arriving at the scene shortly after the attack began.

The military reportedly engaged the bandits immediately, leading to the successful rescue of the kidnapped woman, although her husband remained in captivity.

"The Army arrived instantly and started engaging with them," the resident confirmed.

"They have reportedly rescued the woman from the bandits' hands."
