Bandits stormed Efagi village, under the Lafiagi Emirate in the Edu Local Government Area of Kwara State on Friday, kidnapping a man and his wife and injuring a local vigilante.

According to a resident who spoke to NupekoTV Lafiagi, the assailants opened fire indiscriminately as they entered the village.
During the chaos, the couple was forcibly taken from their home, while a member of the local vigilante group, who tried to fend off the attackers, was injured.
The situation prompted a rapid response from the Nigerian Army, with troops arriving at the scene shortly after the attack began.
The military reportedly engaged the bandits immediately, leading to the successful rescue of the kidnapped woman, although her husband remained in captivity.
"The Army arrived instantly and started engaging with them," the resident confirmed.
"They have reportedly rescued the woman from the bandits' hands."
As of Friday morning, the Nigerian Army continues to maintain a strong presence in the area and is reportedly in active pursuit of the fleeing bandits, according to the latest report.
