Troops Rescue Six Kidnap Victims In Kaduna, Katsina, Force Terrorists To Flee –Nigerian Army | Sahara Reporters

In Kaduna, troops of Sector 1 responded to intelligence about a kidnapping incident in Igabi and encountered suspected terrorists moving with their captives. The troops’ arrival forced the suspects to abandon the victims and flee, allowing soldiers to rescue three people identified as Enock Hussaini, Abba Dauda and Kalif Haruna.

Troops of the Joint Task Force North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, rescued six kidnapped victims during separate operations in Kaduna and Katsina states on September 17, 2026, forcing the suspected terrorists holding them to flee.

The Media Information Officer of the Joint Task Force North West, Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja, disclosed this in a statement issued on September 18.

He said three victims were rescued in Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State, while three others were freed in Dandume Local Government Area of Katsina State.

Danja said the three victims had been abducted from Gidan Gulbi Village on September 11. He added that the victims were debriefed after the rescue and reunited with their families, while troops maintained their presence in the area to prevent further attacks.

In Katsina, Sector 2 troops responded to a distress call over the abduction of civilians along the Dandume-Damari axis in Dandume Local Government Area. The troops moved to the location, engaged the suspected terrorists with what the statement described as overwhelming firepower and forced them to retreat into nearby bushes.

The soldiers pursued the fleeing suspects and rescued three victims identified as Abubakar Abdulkadir, 25; Mansir Idris, 26; and Abubakar Aliyu, 21. Troops also recovered a black Golf vehicle belonging to the victims before escorting them from the area to continue their journey.

The Joint Task Force said the operations formed part of its continued efforts to protect civilians, disrupt terrorist activities and restrict the movement of armed groups across its area of responsibility.

The task force urged residents to remain vigilant and provide security agencies with timely information about suspicious activities to support ongoing operations against terrorists and other criminal groups in the North-West.
