Voting has been disrupted at a polling unit in Osogbo, Osun State, after the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) machine reportedly stopped working.

The incident occurred at the Open Space, Mallam Tope Junction, along Ring Road New Polling Unit in Agowande Ward, Osogbo Local Government Area.

Visiting the polling unit, SaharaReporters learned that the BVAS machine became unresponsive while voters were waiting to cast their ballots.

The polling officials were seen attempting to restore the machine and get it working so that the voting process could continue.

However, the machine remained unresponsive at the time of the report, leaving several voters stranded in the queue.

Some of the voters reportedly expressed frustration over the delay, insisting that they had yet to cast their ballots and wanted to exercise their franchise.

The polling officials, however, assured the voters that voting would continue once the BVAS machine was restored.

The incident adds to concerns over technical challenges being reported at some polling units during the ongoing Osun State governorship election.

The affected polling unit is identified as Ward 026, Agowande Ward, in the Osogbo Local Government Area.
