A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Dino Melaye, has disclosed that discussions are currently ongoing among opposition parties to form a coalition aimed at ensuring President Bola Ahmed Tinubu does not secure a second term in the 2027 general elections.

Melaye, who has been a vocal critic of the current administration, stated that the “Tinubu Must Go” movement is gaining momentum as various political stakeholders recognize the need for a unified front to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The discussions are ongoing. We are talking to all like-minded individuals and parties who believe that Nigeria needs a change of direction. The goal is simple: to rescue the country from the current economic and political mismanagement. A coalition is not just an option; it is a necessity for 2027.

The former Kogi West Senator emphasized that the coalition would transcend party lines, focusing on a common agenda to restore good governance and address the prevailing hardships faced by Nigerians.

He further noted that while the process of building such a broad-based alliance is complex, the commitment from various opposition leaders remains strong. Melaye expressed confidence that a formidable force would emerge to provide a viable alternative to the incumbent government in the upcoming polls.
