The Makinde-Daura Presidential Campaign Organisation (MDPCO) has accused President Bola Tinubu of having a hardened heart towards the suffering of Nigerians, likening his response to the country’s ship to the biblical Pharaoh’s refusal to heed the cries of the Israelites.

The organisation said Tinubu’s refusal to reconsider his administration’s policies, which it blamed for widespread perception of his administration as one under which Nigerians were being subjected to hardship rather than led towards prosperity.

In a statement signed by Richard Ihediwa, its Director of Strategic Communications, the organisation said, “President Tinubu’s hardness of heart and refusal/failure to heed the wailing of suffering Nigerians is akin to the biblical Pharaoh who hardened his heart against the cries of the Israelites.”

President Tinubu’s words strike like the oppressor’s whip. His latest inflexible response to suffering Nigerians, coupled with his ill-considered reference to Egypt, sends a clear message.

The MDPCO also accused the Tinubu administration of imposing harsh taxes while failing to demonstrate sufficient accountability to citizens bearing the burden of its policies.

The statement further lamented the state of education in the country, noting that it is the same country where the revered Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Tinubu’s claimed political patriarch, institutionalised free and quality education.

The organisation also highlighted the security situation, describing the country as a “killing field, seizing communities, schools, places of worship and our highways,” adding, “Indeed, this is not the country we all desire.”

Addressing the economic challenges, the statement concluded, “In any event, President Tinubu should know that Nigerians are too famished to gird their loins for a journey that lead to nowhere.”
