Tinubu won’t relent in implementing women empowerment policies – Shettima
Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima, has reaffirmed the commitment of the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to implementing high-impact policies and programmes designed to uplift women in every sector of society.
He said the administration is shattering barriers to unleash an unstoppable wave of women’s empowerment across Nigeria, a decision he said is premised on the conviction that women are the backbone of every nation and the livewire of economic activities in every society.
The Vice President stated this on Monday when he received in audience, Nigerian Women for Tinubu/Shettima 2027 (NWFTAS 2027), an All Progressives Congress (APC) a women support group for the re-election of President Tinubu and his deputy led by its Chairman of the Board of Trustees (BoT), High Chief (Dr.) Bisola Sodipo Edwin Clark, and National Coordinator/Convener, Elsie Mangai.
Women are the backbone of every society, and the growth and stability of every society. A nation is judged by the way they treat their women.
“I want to convey to you the goodwill and the assurance as well as maximum support of Mr President to enable you carry out your activities,” VP Shettima noted.
We are convinced that Nigeria is in the hands of a good captain capable of navigating the ship to a safe harbour. Your consistent advocacy for national unity continues to resonate across various fora.
Noting that the Vice President’s commitment to national unity had notably been reflected in his words, Mangai quoted the VP as once saying, “What binds us together supercedes what divides us.”
She continued: “We are deeply persuaded by this admonition and believe that its message remains as relevant as ever.
At time when our national cohesion requires commitment, your words serve as compelling reminder that our shared values, common aspirations and collective destiny are far greater than our differences.
She acknowledged Senator Shettima’s humility, unwavering loyalty to the President and peaceful leadership, saying they are qualities that have endeared them to the administration.
“At a time when politics is loud, you have remained calm; when loyalty is scarce, you have remained faithful.
As mothers raising children, that is the character we want our children to learn. That is why we insisted on carrying the name, Tinubu/Shettima 2027 even when we were advised against it,” the National Coordinator added.
