Tinubu Fuel Subsidy: Possible Issues – Kwankwaso
The vice presidential candidate of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC), Rabiu Kwankwaso, has said President Bola Tinubu’s decision to remove the fuel subsidy on his first day in office was a mistake that has plunged Nigeria into a total economic mess.
Kwankwaso, a former governor of Kano State, stated this in an interview with Arise TV, where he discussed the fuel subsidy policy of the President Bola Tinubu-led administration and the positions of presidential candidates ahead of the 2027 election.
He noted that an administration led by the party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, would reintroduce fuel subsidy, but in a different form, while avoiding the system previously used by successive administrations.
