Terrorists holding hostages in Kwara State have released a new video showing the criminals flogging a Point-of-Sale (POS) attendant and two children as they demand a ransom of N50 million from the victims’ families.

SaharaReporters obtained the video on Thursday, which shows one of the gunmen using a stick to repeatedly beat the captives—two of them children—inside what appears to be a forested hideout.

The victims, visibly emaciated and exhausted, cried out in pain and pleaded for help from the Nigerian government and the public.

The abductees include a popular POS agent identified as Yman, who was kidnapped in late June 2025 along with others in a wave of abductions that have plagued parts of Kwara North. He and the children have remained in captivity for over a month.

“They are demanding N50 million before they can release them,” a relative of one of the victims told SaharaReporters.

“We have sold lands and all valuable properties to raise this money and we have even issued out flyers to call for donations. It is sad that the government and security operatives are not doing anything to rescue them.”

The family member also decried the psychological torture the victims are enduring, describing the latest video as “heartbreaking and inhumane.”

This development follows earlier reports by SaharaReporters that the terrorists had hijacked Yman’s TikTok and WhatsApp accounts, using them to post disturbing content and issue threats to the victims' families.

SaharaReporters had revealed how one of the terrorists took over Yman’s TikTok account, posting videos directly from the forest hideout.

The gunman, who appeared barefaced in at least seven different uploads, also used the victim’s WhatsApp to send torture videos to relatives. One video showed Yman crying and begging for food as his captors mocked him.

“He has been using Yman’s phone number to call us,” a relative told SaharaReporters earlier.

“He even used the WhatsApp line to send us a video of Yman crying and begging for help due to hunger and torture. Now, they’ve hijacked his TikTok account and the kidnapper is confidently uploading videos from their hideout.”

The brazen online activity by the terrorists has sparked widespread outrage and raised serious concerns about Nigeria’s failing security apparatus.

Despite the kidnappers’ repeated use of traceable digital platforms, security agencies have failed to locate or apprehend the culprits.

“The bandit is not even covering his face,” another family source had lamented.

“He is doing this because he knows the Nigerian Government and security operatives cannot track him. This country is finished.”
