PromiseLand Unveils ProTaxi as Nigeria’s Homegrown E-Hailing Alternative October 1 | Sahara Reporters
PromiseLand Innovations Limited is set to unveil ProTaxi, a Nigerian-owned e-hailing platform, on October 1, 2026, positioning the service as a homegrown alternative in the country’s growing ride-hailing market.
Developed with the Nigerian market in mind, ProTaxi is designed to connect riders and drivers through a digital platform that places emphasis on affordability, safety, reliability and environmentally responsible transportation.
The company said the platform was conceived to address some of the everyday mobility challenges faced by Nigerians while providing a locally developed option in an industry where international brands have played a significant role.
The business is owned by Amb. Lawrence Oloche, who also leads PromiseLand Estate’s ambitious initiative to develop 100,000 housing units across Nigeria, beginning with the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.
According to Oloche, who serves as the Chief Executive Officer, CEO, ProTaxi offers drivers flexible earning opportunities, allowing them to choose their working hours and operate either full-time or part-time on the platform.
Oloche said ProTaxi’s mission is to improve mobility through technological advancement, affordable rides, economic opportunities and environmental benefits.
A major part of the company’s strategy is the promotion of electric vehicles and clean-energy transportation.
PromiseLand believes increased adoption of cost-effective electric vehicles could reduce operating expenses for drivers, support competitive fares for passengers and contribute to cleaner urban transportation.
The company has set a long-term goal of establishing ProTaxi as a leading eco-friendly ride-hailing platform in Africa.
“We believe getting around should be easy, affordable, and environmentally responsible,” the company said.
ProTaxi provides digital ride booking, allowing passengers to connect with available drivers and request rides within their locations.
The platform also offers personalised location features, multiple payment options, trip information and access to drivers’ receipts.
Safety features include driver verification, real-time tracking, ratings and reviews.
Riders can also share their live locations with family members and friends, enabling them to follow their journeys in real time.
For drivers, the platform offers flexible earning opportunities, allowing them to choose when and how often they work.
PromiseLand said the model is intended to create sustainable earning opportunities for drivers while providing passengers with reliable and affordable transportation.
The launch of ProTaxi represents PromiseLand’s expansion from real estate into technology-driven mobility.
The PromiseLand brand is already pursuing an initiative to develop 100,000 housing units across Nigeria, beginning with the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.
With ProTaxi, the company is extending its focus from providing housing solutions to addressing another major everyday need — transportation.
The platform is owned by businessman and entrepreneur, Amb. Lawrence Oloche, who also leads PromiseLand’s real estate operations.
ProTaxi’s entry comes at a time when rising vehicle and transportation operating costs are putting pressure on drivers and commuters across Nigeria.
PromiseLand is betting that a locally developed platform combining technology, electric vehicles and an understanding of the Nigerian operating environment can provide an alternative for both riders and drivers.
The company said its ambition goes beyond establishing another ride-hailing application, as it intends to promote cleaner transportation and demonstrate the potential of indigenous technology solutions in addressing Nigeria’s mobility challenges.
Ahead of its official unveiling on October 1, the ProTaxi rider application is available for iPhone and Android devices.
