Osun Election: Obaseki congratulates Adeleke on re-election
Former Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki has congratulated Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke on his victory in the August 15 governorship election.
Obaseki described Adeleke’s victory as decisive, saying the outcome demonstrated the ability of citizens to defend their democratic choices through unity and determination.
“I congratulate Sen. Ademola Adeleke on his decisive victory in the Saturday, August 15, Osun governorship election,” Obaseki said in his congratulatory message.
According to the former governor, the election result showed that Nigerians could influence political leadership when they remained united around a common purpose.

“Your victory sends a clear message that when Nigerians stand together with courage, determination and common purpose, they can defend democratic choices and compel leaders to act in the best interests of the people,” he said.
Obaseki, drawing from his political experience, said the outcome should remind elected officials that their primary responsibility was to the electorate.
“From my political experience, a hard-fought election ultimately decided by the people reminds every public office holder that loyalty must always remain with the people,” he said.
He urged Adeleke to regard his renewed mandate as a responsibility to deepen good governance, pursue further development and prioritise the welfare of Osun residents.
