Victor said his Investigating Police Officer (IPO) later confirmed that the suspects confessed — yet the release still happened.
A kidnapping survivor, Victor N. Izuchukwu, popularly known as Abuja Korea, has accused the Nigerian Police of freeing the gang that nearly killed him in 2023, including the alleged ringleader, who now reportedly boasts that “nothing go happen.”
In a video obtained by SaharaReporters, Victor narrates in graphic detail how he was attacked by his own workers inside his residence in Abuja and left for dead, only to later discover that the police released the suspects — including the elderly security guard he identifies as “Baba,” who allegedly led the attackers into his home.
Victor begins his account by describing a normal morning that turned into a near-fatal ambush.
He said: “I would like to share a story that happened to me. I was brutally attacked by my workers in my estate in Abuja. It all happened on November 27, 2023.”
According to him, earlier that day one of his workers approached him for assistance.
“One of my workers came to me and asked me for help… I had to give him 5,000 Naira. He was very happy and then he left.”
But hours later, Victor said he heard his dog barking unusually and went towards the fence:
“Lo and behold, I saw one of my workers loading his rifle with bullets. His name is Damina. Immediately, he sighted me. He shot directly to me… I had to run behind the house.”
He narrated how he hid inside the ceiling, calling security agencies as gunshots tore through his home.
“I made use of the manhole into the roof… those criminals were shooting inside trying to break the door.”
Victor said the attackers found their way to the roof using his water tank.
“He was holding an AK-47… He tried to use the machete to hit me. I hit his head.”
They both fell off the roof during the struggle. “The rest criminals started fighting me. They were using machete on me, hitting me.”
He pleaded with them not to take him away.

“They said I should follow them… I told them no, I can’t follow them. If they want any amount, I’ll give it to them.”
But the attackers refused and continued to hack him with blades.
“One of them cut me on my tummy. My intestine came out. I had to cover my tummy.”
While running towards the gate, he said he was shot.
“They shot me on my leg. I fell down.”
Victor recalls hearing the attackers speaking a mix of Fulani and English.
“The Baba that led them into my house was the security around.”
Despite the police arriving early, he said officers failed to intervene.
“The only thing the police officers did was give warning shots from afar to scare them.”
He claimed Baba then urged the gunmen to finish him off.
“Baba had to tell them that they should run. That the police is around. That they should shoot me.”
Victor says the gang fired repeatedly at him, thinking he had died.
“They wasted bullets on me multiple times… They confirmed that I was dead.”
Neighbours later came to his aid.
“I started shouting… telling them they’ve gone. They should come close.”
His brother arrived believing he was giving his final words.
“I was giving my last word to my brother… They wanted to kidnap me… They had to waste me.”
To his shock, the security guard returned to confirm he was dead.
“Lo and behold, Baba came down to where I was lying, thinking I was dead.”
Victor noted that the police arrested Baba and rushed him to hospital, but several facilities rejected him.
“I was rejected by several hospitals. Unfortunately, the National Hospital accepted me. But they said they were going to cut my leg.”
He was later transferred to Cedar Crest and discharged in early January.
Defying medical advice, Victor says he drove himself after discharge to track down some of the attackers.
“I went to look for some boys and I went to hunt some of the boys that came to attack me… I handed him over to the Nigerian police.”
He also said another suspect was arrested in Nasarawa State.
But while following up on the case, he discovered the alleged ringleader was released.
“Only for me to find out that the Baba that led them was released… They said that the man is too old… anytime they want to get him, they will get him.”
Victor said his Investigating Police Officer (IPO) later confirmed that the suspects confessed — yet the release still happened.
“My IPO had to tell me that the criminals confessed to the crime and still had to release the man.”
Victor accused both the police and judiciary of compromising the case.
“Honestly, with what I saw from this issue, our judiciary system is so corrupt, both the Nigerian police and my persecutor brought another IPO… saying things that did not even happen in the favor of the criminals.”
He told the court the officer testifying was a stranger.
“I told them that the IPO they brought… I don’t know the IPO. He’s not my IPO. My IPO name is Zakari.”
