President Bola Tinubu is intensifying his efforts to secure the support of 56 million northern voters ahead of the 2027 general elections, as his campaign team works to consolidate his political base in the region.

Meanwhile, former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar has formally challenged the Independent National Electoral Commission regarding the transparency of its procurement processes for the upcoming polls.

Atiku, through a statement issued by the Director of Strategic Communication of the ADC Presidential Campaign Council, Phrank Shaibu, specifically asked INEC to confirm or deny reports that Hitech or a company associated with it had secured a contract to print sensitive materials for the 2027 elections.

The political landscape remains highly competitive as opposition leaders continue to trade barbs with the ruling party over economic reforms and electoral preparedness.
