Ex-Obidient Coordinator: Tinubu Campaign Strategy

A group of former supporters of Peter Obi, operating under the name ‘Batified Obidients,’ has officially defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC) to support President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.

We are former Labour Party and Obidient supporters. We are now shifting our support to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and adopting the All Progressives Congress, the APC, as our political vehicle for 2027, under the name Batified Obidients.

The group, led by Adesina Fagbenro-Byron, the former director of operations at the Obidient Movement, announced their decision during a press conference in Abuja. Fabian Chukwudoruo, the group’s deputy national coordinator and former head of logistics for the Obi/Datti presidential campaign council, addressed the media regarding the shift in allegiance.

Chukwudoruo stated that the decision followed deep reflection on their experiences within the 2023 campaign and an assessment of the current administration’s policies. He cited leadership challenges and poor management within the previous camp as factors contributing to their departure.

The ‘Batified Obidients’ group plans to mobilize former campaign associates, undecided voters, and citizens in opposition strongholds to support the APC. Their strategy includes grassroots engagement, membership registration, and nationwide rallies to promote the Tinubu-Shettima ticket for the 2027 general election.
