The Nigerian Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has approved the immediate redeployment of over 100 senior officers across various formations nationwide.
This was revealed in a wireless message, tagged “MOST/IMMEDIATE,” and sent from the Force Secretary in Abuja to virtually all police units, zonal commands, departments, and institutions nationwide.
The wireless message exclusively obtained by SaharaReporters instructs officers to assume their new roles immediately and warns that those stepping into higher duties must not wear any unauthorised ranks.
Those affected include Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs) and Superintendents of Police (SPs), many of whom have been moved to sensitive positions such as State Criminal Investigation Departments (SCIDs), Counterterrorism units, and Special Tactical Squads known for cracking down on armed groups and political agitators.
Among the notable redeployments, ACP Banawi Ishaku has been transferred to the X-Squad in Bayelsa, while ACP Moses Sunday Adeyeri has been appointed to head operations in Alapa, Kwara State.
ACP Anthony Olusola Ojo has been transferred to the X-Squad in Kwara, and ACP Suleiman Oba Kadiri is now heading the SCID in Jigawa. ACP Muhammad Hashim assumes command in Awe, Nasarawa; ACP Kumzhi N. Nancwat now oversees operations in Osun State; and ACP Desmond Ikeji Ode takes charge of the X-Squad in Bauchi.
In Lokoja, ACP Auwal Gummi Yakubu has been posted as commander, while ACP Abubakar Umar Garba is now at the helm of the SID in Niger State. ACP Mohammed Isah Bala has been sent to Jigawa’s DOPS, and ACP Aminu Hamman now leads operations in Karewa. ACP Said Jalingo Mohammed is now in charge of DFA in Gombe, while ACP Abdullahi Nasiru will handle logistics at the Force Headquarters.
ACP Obioha Okorie now commands Metro Minna in Niger, and ACP Salisu Gambo Gawuna has been deployed to Keffi, Nasarawa. ACP Asbagu Aliyu Mohammed assumes command in Itu-Ibiono, Akwa Ibom, and ACP Emmanuel Yakubu moves to Zone 7 in Abuja. ACP Musa Jibril is now at X-Squad Lagos, while ACP Mana Mufutau Sadiq handles PSFU, Lagos.
The list continues with ACP Timibra Toikumo at Akamka, Cross River; ACP Ettah Okoi Baba in Okitipupa, Ondo; and ACP Francis Gandu in Ilofa, Kwara. ACP Ibrahim Jauro Aliyu has been redeployed to Otukpo, Benue, and ACP Onyeukwu Ugochukwu K. to DOPS, FCT. ACP Edward Akaniyene is now in charge of Establishments at FORSEC.
Further postings include ACP Paul James Mahaman to DOPS Kaduna; ACP Kabir Abdulrandawa to Awka, Anambra; ACP Theophilus Emeka Eze to Iwo, Osun; ACP Ogunjemisin Tayo to DFA, FCT; and ACP Alikali Lamido to Ikom, Cross River.
ACP Orole Vincent Adelaku has been posted to the Maritime CID in Lagos, while ACP Mohammed Sani Musa is now heading operations in Kazaure, Jigawa. ACP Dayyabu Salisu goes to Calabar SCID, and ACP Nsikak Nse Effiong to X-Squad Zone 2, Lagos. ACP Edino Justice Ojaji will command the Railway base in Bauchi.
Numerous Superintendents of Police were also redeployed to strategic outposts, training units, intelligence commands, and sensitive tactical roles. These include SUPOL Zubairu Maina to DFA at PAP Western Port, Lagos; SUPOL Olufikayo Abimbola Fawole to DFA Zone 1, Umuahia; SUPOL Stephen Osola Latise to Bama, Borno; SUPOL Buhari Abdullahi to X-Squad, Plateau; and SUPOL Akaninyere Etuk to Railway Zaria.
SUPOL Abdullahi Umar has been appointed Camp Commandant at FHQ Abuja; SUPOL Alhaji Kadiri Umar joins X-Squad in Kebbi; and SUPOL Muhammad Danjuma Adamu takes command in Shinkafi, Zamfara. SUPOL Sani Kabir is heading to the SID in Kogi; SUPOL Aliyu Demba to DFA Adamawa; and SUPOL Nuhu Egye Ibrahim to DFA Kogi.
In Ankpa, Kogi, SUPOL Mustapha T. Na’Abba takes over; SUPOL Mamman Ibrahim Jawi is now at Zone 14 in Katsina; SUPOL Ango Ibrahim moves to FCID Gombe; SUPOL Idris Haruna to DFA Zone 16 Yenagoa; SUPOL Abubakar Shaibu Shinkafi to Police College for Liberal Studies; and SUPOL Williams Nwalieji Okafor to B-Kudu, Jigawa.
