BREAKING: Nigeria Wins AFCON Women Final, Beats Host Country Morocco

Nigeria's women football team, Super Falcons on Saturday beat the Atlas Lionesses of Morocco to clinch their 10th title of the continential competition. 

A superb second half display saw the most decorated team stage a comeback from two goals down.

Morocco and Nigeria faced off this at the Rabat Olympic Stadium for the 2024 Women's AFCON final.

Both teams had announced their starting elevens, with their respective captains Ghizlane Chebbak and Rasheedat Ajibade leading the sides.

Just minutes before kickoff in the Moroccan capital, head coaches Justine Madugu and Jorge Vilda have confirmed their starting lineups for this ultimate showdown of the 2024 Women's Africa Cup of Nations.

At the blow of the final whistle which finished the match 3-2, Nigeria's small band of fans rejoiced wildly.

Their players dropped to the turf, then returned to their feet to begin the party.

Morocco and the home nation fans were stunned after a cruel defeat.

It's a record-extending 10th continental title for the team who have dominated this competition.
