APM accuses Tinubu of abdicating presidency to cabal, backs Makinde
The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) has accused President Bola Tinubu of abdicating his presidential responsibilities to a “cabal,” while throwing its full weight behind Seyi Makinde, the governor of Oyo State, as its presidential candidate for the 2027 general elections.
The party alleges that the current administration has become detached from the realities of the Nigerian people, effectively leaving the governance of the nation in the hands of an unelected cabal that does not have the interest of the masses at heart.
In a statement, the party leadership expressed deep concern over the state of the nation, citing rising insecurity, economic hardship, and a perceived lack of direction from the presidency. The APM argued that President Tinubu has failed to provide the necessary leadership to navigate Nigeria through its current challenges.
The party further stated that Seyi Makinde, who has been officially adopted as their candidate, represents a “breath of fresh air” and possesses the requisite experience and vision to rescue the country from its current trajectory. According to the APM, Makinde’s performance as governor of Oyo State serves as a testament to his ability to manage resources effectively and implement policies that directly benefit the citizenry.
We are confident that with Seyi Makinde at the helm, Nigeria will witness a paradigm shift in governance, characterized by transparency, accountability, and a genuine commitment to the welfare of all Nigerians.
The APM called on Nigerians to remain vigilant and to support their movement as they prepare for the upcoming electoral cycle, emphasizing that the 2027 election is a critical opportunity to restore the nation’s dignity and economic stability.
