Alleged Certificate Forgery: Court Grants Atiku Permission To Serve Tinubu Through Substituted Means

The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has granted the request by former Vice President and presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Atiku Abubakar, to serve President Bola Tinubu with court processes through substituted means.

Justice Inyang Edem Ekwo issued the order, allowing the legal team to serve the President with the suit challenging his eligibility for the 2027 presidential election via the All Progressives Congress (APC) secretariat.

The suit, marked FHC/ABJ/CS/1888/2026, alleges that President Tinubu submitted a forged National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) discharge certificate to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

I know that the NYSC certificate is clearly not one obtained by the 1st defendant, as it belongs to one Adekunle. The said NYSC certificate, bearing the name Tinubu Bola Adekunle, is herein attached and marked as Exhibit P2.

The court has directed that the service be completed within seven days. President Tinubu and the APC have previously denied the allegations, filing a joint counter-affidavit requesting the court to dismiss the suit on the grounds of incompetence and lack of legal standing by the plaintiffs.
