Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has launched a scathing critique of President Bola Tinubu’s administration, alleging that the current government’s policies have significantly worsened the economic plight of Nigerians.

Obasanjo, speaking at the Chinua Achebe Leadership Forum at Yale University, argued that the administration’s approach to governance has compounded the country’s problems, including hunger, corruption, and insecurity. He further suggested that the country is sliding into a state of ungovernability and chaos due to the current rate of economic deceleration.

The former president also criticized the administration’s handling of regional relationships and its failure to address the fundamental issues affecting the lives of ordinary citizens. He emphasized that meaningful progress would depend on a fundamental shift in leadership quality and governance approach.
