BREAKING: Police Fire Tear Gas At Gbadebo, Doherty, Other #EndSARS Memorial Participants At Lekki Toll Gate

Armed police on Tuesday fired teargas at participants marking the sixth anniversary of the #EndSARS protests at the Lekki Toll Gate in Lagos.

The incident occurred as Nigerians gathered to commemorate the sixth anniversary of the 2020 nationwide #EndSARS protests against police brutality, which saw the toll gate become a major symbol of the protests following the deadly events of October 20, 2020, when security operatives opened fire on protesters demanding an end to police brutality.

The Lekki Toll Gate remains a significant site for #EndSARS protesters and families of victims, as the shootings and reported killings by soldiers, police officers and other security operatives continue to be a point of contention.
