Ghana Rejects FBI Director’s Claim Of Leading Raid On Cybercrime Compound, Says Operation Was Ghana-Led
Ghana’s Cyber Security Authority (CSA) has rejected claims by United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Director Kashyap Patel suggesting that the US agency led a global operation that dismantled a cybercrime compound in Ghana.
The CSA said the operation, known as “Operation Blackout” or “Operation Cyber Hunt,” was conceived, planned, coordinated and executed by Ghanaian authorities, with support from several local and international law enforcement agencies, including the FBI.
Patel had said the FBI “took out a Scam compound in Ghana” during what he called “Disruption Week.”
