The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has addressed speculation regarding his tenure in President Bola Tinubu’s cabinet, clarifying the conditions under which he might consider stepping down.

I am a man of my word, and my loyalty to the President remains steadfast as long as the objectives of this administration are being met for the benefit of the people.

Wike emphasized that his primary focus remains the development of the FCT and the successful implementation of the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda. He noted that his departure would only be a matter of consideration if he felt he could no longer contribute effectively to the administration’s goals or if the President decided it was time for a change in leadership.

Governance is about service, and when the time comes for me to move on, it will be done in consultation with Mr. President, who gave me this opportunity to serve.

The Minister dismissed rumors of a rift between him and the presidency, reiterating that his political alignment with President Tinubu is based on shared values and a commitment to national progress.
