2027: Opposition rigging against itself by factionalising – Donald Duke
The presidential candidate of the People’s Redemption Party (PRP), Donald Duke, said the opposition is rigging against itself by factionalising ahead of the 2027 general election.
In an appearance on Symfoni TV interview programme, ‘Naija Unfiltered’, Duke blamed ego for factionalisation within the ranks of the opposition.
The former Cross River governor noted that everything is skewed in favour of the incumbent president going into the elections but warned that the opposition was also shooting itself in the foot by failing to unite.
Duke said, “Coming back to elections, even if APC did nothing (they are the party in power), if there is a problem on that day, the IG of Police will not go to any of the contestants. He’ll go to the president. Everything is skewed in favour of the incumbent. Respect that.

“The only way you can tackle the incumbent is to come together. Otherwise you’ll be factionalised.
“If you’re talking of rigging, we are rigging it against ourselves because of our ego. We need to come together.
“Bola Tinubu is not the average politician. You don’t go to fight a lion who also has horns…a lion is already a dangerous animal. You now give it horns and say go and fight it with knife and fork. You’ll be the dinner.”
