2027: No way Atiku, Obi can defeat Tinubu — Presidency

The Presidency has declared that there is no chance former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, can defeat President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general election.

The Presidency, in a statement, dismissed the political ambitions of the opposition leaders, suggesting that their efforts to unseat the incumbent are driven by a desperate desire for power rather than a viable path to victory.

Atiku is a serial failure and a serial opposition person and there’s nothing we can do about it. I am sure that in 2031, he will still contest. I would be surprised if he said this government has achieved a lot. It is unfortunate for him. But let him leave this 2027 race, it is not available for him.

The administration maintained that it remains undeterred by the antics of the opposition and will not be distracted from its governance agenda by the political maneuvering ahead of the 2027 polls.
