The corpse of a yet-to-be-identified man was found on Monday in front of a filling station in the Seme area of Badagry, Lagos State, PUNCH Metro learnt on Tuesday.

The discovery was first reported in a Facebook post by CityMood Badagry, a local social media news platform that documents incidents within the community.
The deceased, whose identity remains unknown, was found lying face up, dressed in what appeared to be a white top with black stripes, his chest and neck bones visibly exposed.

The incident comes less than a week after another decomposing body of an unidentified person was discovered in a separate part of Badagry.

Sharing the latest discovery under a public service announcement on Monday, accompanied by a photograph of the lifeless body, the platform wrote that a man had been found dead in front of the Total filling station in Seme, Badagry West.

It urged anyone who could recognise him or identify his family to contact the appropriate authorities, adding that further details had not yet been established.

When contacted for clarification, the spokesperson for the state police command, Abimbola Adebisi, was unavailable for comment, and WhatsApp messages sent to her had not been responded to as of the time of filing this report.

The recent incident mirrors a similar alert issued by CityMood Badagry less than a week earlier, when it reported the presence of a decapitated body along the Badagry–Seme Expressway.

The remains, allegedly missing several parts, were found near Tota, close to the first Customs checkpoint, and had been repeatedly run over by vehicles.

PUNCH Metro gathered that the earlier body was eventually evacuated days after discovery.
