The Bank of Industry has donated relief materials to the National Emergency Management as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility initiative.

In a statement made available to our correspondent on Tuesday, the Managing Director of BOI, Olasupo Olusi, emphasised the bank’s dedication to supporting vulnerable communities and promoting inclusiveness across Nigeria.

He stated, “Today, we stand not just as individuals but as a united community, demonstrating compassion and solidarity.”

He noted that recent challenges, due to natural disasters or economic hardships, had tested the resilience of many Nigerians, but such times also provided opportunities for collective strength to shine through.

Olusi added that the relief materials were more than just an act of charity but a reaffirmation of BOI’s commitment to ensuring no one is left behind.

“While these relief materials are essential for immediate assistance, they are only a temporary solution. Our true goal is to rebuild, restore, and create a future where every Nigerian has the opportunity to thrive without fear of hunger, displacement, or uncertainty,” he stated.

The BOI boss also encouraged Nigerians to continue looking out for one another, urging them to offer help whenever possible and remain hopeful in the face of adversity.

In her response, NEMA Director-General, Zubaida Umar, expressed gratitude on behalf of the agency and assured the BOI team that the donated materials would be used for their intended purpose.

“We thank the board and management of BOI for this kind donation. I assure you that these items will be utilised to reach the targeted beneficiaries as envisioned by the bank,” Umar said.
