Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State urges personnel managers in the state to utilize the insights and networking from the 10th Chartered Institute of Personnel Management conference for growth and development.

He said this in a goodwill message delivered at the awards presentation ceremony to round off the CIPM annual conference, which was held recently in Abeokuta.

Abiodun, represented by the Head of Service, Mr Kehinde Onasanya, said the programme would further promote growth and excellence in human resource management.

The governor said, “Lessons learned during the conference are invaluable and will inspire and drive positive change within respective organisations, the public service inclusive,

“The government recognises the vital role that professionals play in the growth and development of the state and, therefore, is committed to working closely with the institute to promote best practices and drive excellence in human resource management in the public service.”

Abiodun appreciated the leadership of CIPM under the guidance of the President and Chairman of the Governing Council, Mallam Ahmed Gobir, for promoting and maintaining professional human resources management practices in Nigeria.

Gobir appreciated the state for giving opportunities for civil servants to excel in their chosen careers by organising training and retaining the workforce from time to time.

According to Gobir, Governor Abiodun is an apostle of capacity building, pointing out that the Institute would not take the gesture for granted.

The Ogun State branch of the institute later presented awards of excellence and commitment to the growth of personnel management in the state to Abiodun, the Secretary to the State Government, Mr Tokunbo Talabi and the Head of Service, Mr Kehinde Onasanya.
