Renowned filmmaker, Uduak Isong, recently launched Closer Film Night, an exciting new event designed to unveil films and celebrate the talents shaping the Nigerian film industry.
Held on Sunday, November 17, 2024, at Radisson Blu, Victoria Island, Lagos, the event highlighted the achievements of Nollywood stars, with a particular emphasis on creators excelling in the online space.
The night also featured the premiere of Teacher Dorcas, an inspirational drama centred on a passionate young teacher tasked with leading a class of unruly students.
The film chronicles her journey as she confronts challenges, discovers her students’ strengths, and strives to leave a lasting impact on the school and its community.
The star-studded cast includes Lateef Adedimeji, Lasisi Elenu, Calabar Chic, Chuks Joseph, and a host of rising stars, with Bimbo Ademoye taking on the lead role.
The filmmaker celebrated for championing emerging actors, underscored the importance of nurturing new talent.
