Truck crushes Ogun motorcyclist to death

A yet-to-be-identified motorcyclist was crushed to death by a truck at the Iyana-Ilogbo area of the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway.
PUNCH Metro learnt from the spokesperson for the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency, Babatunde Akinbiyi, on Wednesday, that the accident occurred at about 10 a.m.
He identified the vehicles involved as a MAN Diesel truck with number plate EPE 513 YJ and a red Bajaj Boxer motorcycle with number plate WDE 403 VQ.
Akinbiyi noted that the truck was travelling at high speed when it collided with the motorcyclist from the rear.
The impact of the collision led to the rider’s death on the spot.
“A fatal RTA/RTC occurred at Iyana Ilogbo, outbound Sango Ota, along the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway on Wednesday.
“According to the police investigation, the crash was caused by excessive speed on the part of the MAN Diesel truck, which hit the motorcyclist from behind.

“The presumed dead was deposited in the Ifo General Hospital morgue, where he was confirmed dead by the doctor,” the TRACE spokesperson said.
