Schneider’s Innovation Day to spotlight tech, energy

Schneider Electric will host its 2025 Innovation Day on Tuesday in Lagos, bringing together industry leaders, government officials, and sustainability experts to explore how technology can accelerate Nigeria’s energy transition.

Themed “Competitive Advantage Through Automation and Sustainability”, the event will showcase how digital technology, artificial intelligence, and data-driven solutions are shaping sustainable growth and creating more reliable energy systems.

According to a statement on Monday from the organiser, attendees will experience live demonstrations and interactive sessions highlighting how technology can help industries operate efficiently, reduce carbon emissions, and unlock new business opportunities.

Expected participants include the Representative of the Minister of Power, Adedayo Olowoniyi; Consul General of France in Nigeria, Laurent Favier; Chief Executive Officer, Ikeja Electric, Folake Soetan; as well as executives from Schneider Electric, key customers, and industry partners.

Country President of Schneider Electric Nigeria, Mr Ajibola Akindele, said, “Across Africa, energy remains the foundation of industrial progress and sustainable development. Innovation Day provides a platform to exchange ideas, inspire collaboration, and accelerate innovation that makes energy more reliable, efficient, and accessible to all.”

The event will feature thought leadership sessions led by Zone President, Middle East and Africa, Walid Sheta, and Cluster President, English-speaking Africa, Canninah Dladla, among others. It will also celebrate young energy innovators from universities across Nigeria, reflecting Schneider Electric’s commitment to building the next generation of technology-enabled energy leaders.
