Aston Villa came from behind to defeat Paris Saint-Germain 3–2 in a pulsating second leg of their UEFA Champions League knockout stage tie, but it was not enough to secure progression, as they lost 4–5 on aggregate.

PSG took an early lead through Achraf Hakimi in the 11th minute, before Nuno Mendes doubled the advantage in the 28th minute following an assist from Ousmane Dembélé.

Villa responded in the 34th minute as Youri Tielemans pulled one back with an assist from John McGinn. McGinn, however, was booked eight minutes later as tempers flared in the high-stakes encounter.

Villa continued their comeback after the break, with McGinn levelling the score at 2–2 in the 55th minute from a Pau Torres assist.

Just three minutes later, Ezri Konsa scored the third goal for Villa, assisted by Marcus Rashford, putting the home side ahead on the night.

Despite the spirited fightback and 3–2 win at full time, Unai Emery’s men were eliminated due to the 4–5 aggregate scoreline in favour of the French giants.
