Nigerian boxing sensation Elizabeth Oshoba has signed a promotional deal with Most Valuable Promotions, the management company owned by YouTube celebrity turned boxer Jake Paul.

The current WBC Silver and IBO International Featherweight champion joins MVP’s growing roster of elite female fighters, which includes unified super bantamweight champion Ellie Scotney, IBF bantamweight titleholder Shurretta Metcalf, and interim WBA super featherweight champion Jennifer Miranda.

Oshoba, who recently extended her unbeaten professional record to 9-0-0 with a dominant points victory over Czech fighter Lenka Volejnikova at York Hall in London, has been making waves in international boxing circles with her impressive performances.

The 25-year-old Nigerian made history in 2024 when she became the first female Nigerian boxer to win a world title. She is currently ranked 10th in the World Boxing Association featherweight division and fourth in the super lightweight category.

Her amateur pedigree includes a bronze medal at the 2019 African Games and a silver medal at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, achievements that helped launch her professional career.

After her most recent victory, Oshoba told The PUNCH, “Every fight is a step towards greatness. This wasn’t just about winning, but also about improving on my technique and showing my versatility in the ring.”

The deal with MVP represents a significant opportunity for the Nigerian pugilist to gain greater exposure on the international stage. The promotion company has been actively expanding its roster of female fighters and placing them on high-profile cards.

Reports suggest Oshoba could feature on the undercard of the highly anticipated Katie Taylor vs Amanda Serrano 3 event scheduled for July 11 at Madison Square Garden in New York, which will be broadcast live on Netflix.

Since turning professional, Oshoba has secured the IBO female super-featherweight title and the WBC silver featherweight championship, the latter by knocking out Italy’s Michela Braga in the 10th round at Copenhagen’s Royal Arena.

With Paul’s promotional backing, Oshoba’s goal of becoming number one in the world appears closer to reality as she continues her impressive ascent through the ranks of women’s professional boxing.
