The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Ogun State, Yemi Sanusi, has described the party’s e-registration of members as the bedrock of its future electoral successes.
Sanusi, according to a statement personally signed by him and made available to PUNCH Online on Saturday, disclosed this in Abeokuta, the state capital, during the flag-off of training for the party’s local government supervisors and other officials ahead of the e-registration exercise, expected to commence before the end of the year.
The training aligns with the party’s renewed drive to reposition the ruling APC as a modern, digitally driven, and people-centred political organisation.
The chairman said the training marks the commencement of a comprehensive exercise aimed at establishing a robust, verifiable, and digital database of all APC members across the state.
Emphasising the importance of the initiative, Sanusi explained that “the digitalisation of the party’s membership register is a core mission of the APC family, designed to strengthen the party’s foundation and enhance its operational efficiency.
“The party is on a strategic mission to count its votes before the election by knowing and digitally documenting every single member.
“This e-registration is the bedrock of our future electoral successes and internal planning.”
Sanusi admonished all officials involved in the exercise, including the senatorial administrators, local government supervisors and other party stakeholders, to demonstrate utmost diligence, stressing that their activities would be closely monitored at the highest levels.
He added, “Let it be known that your performance in this exercise is of paramount importance and will be under the direct supervision of their Excellencies, The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, our amiable Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, and my humble self.”
The chairman assured the officials that hard work and exceptional results would be recognised and rewarded, reinforcing the party’s commitment to excellence.
The training session was facilitated by Olusegun Bankole, who also serves as the Administrator for Ogun Central Senatorial District.
Bankole took participants through the technical rudiments and operational protocols of the party’s online registration platform.
Also speaking at the training, the party’s Organising Secretary, Yemi Adelani, charged supervisors to prepare for the task ahead.
Adelani urged officials to work collectively with ward agents to ensure every party member is effectively mobilised and registered on the portal.
He noted that specific targets would be set for each local government area and must be met within record time.
In his closing remarks, the party’s Secretary, Aderibigbe Tella, cautioned all participants to adhere strictly to the laid-down guidelines for the registration exercise to ensure uniformity, accuracy, and overall success.
The party called on members and the general public to await further announcements and participate fully in the e-registration exercise when it begins.
Recall that the National Chairman of the party, Nentawe Yilwatda, recently reaffirmed the APC’s commitment to fully implementing its membership e-registration exercise launched last year.
