Love comes with risks, says Folu Storms

Actress and media personality, Ada Ogunkeye, professionally known as Folu Storms, has said that to fall in love is to risk getting one’s heartbroken. She told Saturday Beats, “I am a lover, and I have had my heart broken before. Can you be a lover and not have your heart broken? It means you are not risking. You ought to have ‘eaten breakfast’ at least once.”

Speaking about her latest projects and deep passion for advocacy, the actress said, “I am working on a project called Red Circle that will be coming out shortly. I have a couple of big projects that would be out this year, but this particular one is dear to my heart.

“On the advocacy side, I believe in the things that I do—advocacy for women empowerment programmes—because that is the position in the world I occupy. I’m a woman, and we have a lot of issues, for example, healthcare, especially in Nigeria.”

She added, “We shouldn’t wait for the government to make a change; we are the government, we are the country, so we have to do something.

“Being a human being drives my passion for advocacy. I believe that life is made up of the simple and small moments, not the big and glamorous. We are all passengers in this thing called life, and nobody is here forever. So, if I can make the journey better for myself and a fellow passenger, why not?”
