Olympique Lyonnais’ Gift Orban (22) is closing in on a move to Bundesliga side Hoffenheim, according to a report from Fabrizio Romano.
The Nigeria international has found himself out of favour this season.
He netted three goals following his arrival from KAA Gent last January as he struggled to break into the first team consistently last season and it has been a similar tale this campaign.
The arrival of Georges Mikautadze bumped him further down the pecking order and when the DNCG sanctioned Lyon, forcing them to offload players in the upcoming transfer window, Orban became one of the more obvious candidates.
This season, the striker has made just five appearances, including just three starts, netting two goals. However, he has been frequently omitted from matchday squads in recent weeks.
He is now set to depart. Romano understands that Hoffenheim are in advanced talks to sign Orban. The form of the move, a loan or a permanent transfer, has not yet been revealed.
