Four suspected cultists have been arrested by the police for allegedly killing a young boy in his 20s, Oyeme Eguari, in Abbi, Ndokwa West local government area of Delta State.
PUNCH Metro gathered that the incident that happened on December 31, 2024, involving a suspected cult group, Vikings Confraternity, during the crossover night, soiled the New Year celebration in the community.
A source who spoke in confidence to our correspondent said the deceased was shot dead on Tuesday night at the beer parlour located at Ejakita Street, Abbi town.
“A young boy was having fun with his friends, drinking in a beer parlour located at Ejakita Street, Abbi Town in Ndokwa West LGA Delta State, when he was shot with a gun by a group of cultists who are members of the Supreme Vikings Confraternity.
“This particular violent secret cult group had masterminded many violent crimes, namely armed robbery, murder, attempted murder, illicit drug trafficking, and grievous harm in the community.
“Please, we are using this medium to seek the intervention of the government in Delta State to stop incessant killings in Abbi town. Also, the human rights activists in Delta State should help the innocent people in Abbi by informing the Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command.”
When contacted on Thursday, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed the killing.
He said, “Yes, it’s confirmed and four suspects have been arrested and handed over to SACU.”
