The winners of The Best FIFA Football Awards 2025 will be unveiled at a special ceremony in Doha, Qatar, on Tuesday, 16 December 2025, FIFA has announced.
The event will be broadcast live on FIFA.com from 20:00 local time (18:00 CET).
In a statement on Monday obtained from FIFA’s X account, the awards ceremony will take place on the eve of the FIFA Intercontinental Cup Qatar 2025 final between Paris Saint-Germain and CR Flamengo at the Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium.
“The world’s top players and coaches will be honoured during the FIFA Celebration 2025 Dinner at the Fairmont Katara Hall in Doha.
“Ahead of the gala, several awards, including those for fans, goalkeepers, and goals, will be revealed through digital videos on FIFA platforms and across social media. The winner of the FIFA Fair Play Award will also be announced,” FIFA said.
The ceremony is expected to host about 800 guests, including the FIFA President, members of the FIFA Council, FIFA Legends, representatives of Member Associations from around the world, as well as local and regional football ambassadors.
Fans played a significant role in deciding the winners, casting more than 16 million votes across multiple categories. Key awards, including The Best FIFA Women’s Player, The Best FIFA Men’s Player, The Best FIFA Women’s Coach, The Best FIFA Men’s Coach, The Best FIFA Women’s Goalkeeper, and The Best FIFA Men’s Goalkeeper, were determined through an equally weighted voting system involving fans, national team captains and coaches, and media representatives.
Supporters also participated in voting for The Best FIFA Women’s 11 and The Best FIFA Men’s 11. Voting for the FIFA Marta Award and the FIFA Puskás Award, which recognise the best goals in women’s and men’s football, was split equally between fans and a panel of FIFA Legends. The FIFA Fan Award was decided entirely by fans, while the FIFA Fair Play Award was selected by an expert panel.
Football fans around the world can watch the full awards ceremony live and free on FIFA.com.
PSG are the best-represented team in this category, with Dembélé joined on the shortlist by his teammates Achraf Hakimi, Nuno Mendes, and Vitinha.
The women’s award will be picked from a larger group of 17 nominees, including Barcelona’s Aitana Bonmatí, who scooped the Ballon d’Or three months ago — and will be seen as a frontrunner to win out again in Qatar. She’s one of five players from the Catalan club to be nominated.
