There have been different reactions and reception to the formation of the ADC coalition across different quarters.
The Labour Party Vice Presidential candidate in the 2023 general election, Datti Baba-Ahmed, has expressed confusion about the African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition.
According to him, he is still trying to understand the party.
"A word of advice, never believe what APC says and to your question on ADC, ADC was recently pointed by the coalition as the party adopted. Quite frankly, I am still trying to understand the ADC, I am still trying to understand it. So I cannot tell you much about ADC," he said on a Channels TV programme.
Earlier, Datti Baba-Ahmed met with Julius Abure, the factional National Chairman of the Labour Party.
"Labour Party is not a party to walk away from."
"The successes, the history that Labour Party of Nigeria has recorded is unique and unprecedented,” Datti declared.
Reflecting on the 2023 election, he said, “We presented clear records and evidence of 10 million votes scored in the last election, thereafter reduced to 6.1 million votes.
“The act of state capture is a more onerous task causing disunity and disaffection within political parties.”
He stated that he had visited the Abure-led faction of the Labour Party to reconcile divergent opinions.
“I’m very proud to say that I did attend meetings of a certain attempt for a coalition in Nigeria.
“Morally speaking, if your neighbourhood invites you to discuss security, you must attend.
“However, if you attend and they discuss other matters besides that, you are at liberty to restore yourself to your former position."
His comments come as uncertainty continues to surround where the Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 general elections, Peter Obi — with whom Datti was Vice Presidential candidate — stands.
It is unclear if Peter Obi continues to be a major part of the coalition or would toe the path of Datti in vying under the Labour Party if and when he declares his ambition.

The party has vowed to unseat incumbent Bola Tinubu.
