The Presidents of Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda have been honoured with the Confederation of African Football President’s Outstanding Achievement Award in recognition of their contributions to the growth and development of football across Africa.

The awards were presented on Wednesday night during the 2025 CAF Awards ceremony held in Rabat, Morocco.

Kenya’s President William Ruto, Tanzania’s President Samia Suluhu Hassan and Uganda’s President Yoweri Museveni were each presented with a CAF Awards plaque for their role in strengthening football structures and supporting major continental sporting programmes.

According to CAF, the recognition was issued under the leadership of its President, Dr Patrice Motsepe, who commended the three East African leaders for demonstrating exceptional commitment toward the advancement of football development on the continent.

CAF noted that Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda recently hosted one of the most successful editions of the African Nations Championship, a collaboration that showcased improved stadium facilities, enhanced logistics and a higher operational standard.

The joint hosting, the football body added, set new standards for excellence on and off the pitch, marking an important milestone for East African football and serving as a model for future regional co-hosting arrangements.

The award presentation formed part of the ceremony that also saw Nigeria’s Super Falcons named Women’s Team of the Year, and Chiamaka Nnadozie as Women’s Goalkeeper of the year.
