Business Verge Awards to spotlight Africa’s top entrepreneurs

The Business Verge Awards has announced plans to celebrate Africa’s top entrepreneurs in December 2025.

According to a statement, the event scheduled to take place in the first week of December 2025 will bring together founders, innovators, business leaders, and changemakers from across the continent.

Speaking ahead of the event, the organising team emphasised that this year’s edition will not only celebrate excellence but also serve as a platform to inspire collaboration and spotlight emerging opportunities in Africa’s business and tech ecosystem.

The organising committee said the 2025 edition will feature 10 major categories, including African Startup Business of the Year, Enterprise Award, Rising Founder of the Year, Excellence in Fintech Award, and Female Founder of the Year.

Other categories include the Social Impact and Sustainability Award, Business Leader of the Year, Community Impact Award, Creative and Business of the Year, and People’s Choice Award.

The organisers said the maiden edition, which was held in January 2025, honoured exceptional players across multiple sectors, setting a new standard for recognising African excellence. “This year, the stage is set for an even more dynamic celebration as the awards continue to amplify stories of resilience, creativity, and leadership.

“Nominations are currently open to entrepreneurs, founders, business leaders, and innovators who have been operating for at least one year and have an active social media presence,” the statement added.
