One person is feared dead following violent clashes during the All Progressives Congress (APC) council primaries in Bwari Area Council, Abuja.

The incident took place on Wednesday amid growing tensions over alleged irregularities in the delegate list used for the election.

A video obtained by SaharaReporters shows a body being hastily placed into a black car.

A voice in the background was heard saying, “Quickly, put him inside the car.”

A source within the party alleged that the National Chairman of the party, Abdullahi Ganduje, was responsible for submitting a controversial list of delegates for the Bwari Area Council primary election.

According to the source, aspirants and authentic delegates unanimously rejected the list allegedly compiled by the APC Local Council Chairman.

The situation reportedly escalated when the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was said to have accepted the disputed list, allegedly sent to them by the APC leadership.

"INEC has allegedly been compromised by APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, who is now reportedly providing the list of delegates for the Bwari Area Council local government election. Aspirants and legitimate delegates have unanimously rejected the alleged fake list submitted through the APC Local Council Chairman," a source said.

The APC council chairman, in a video obtained by SaharaReporters, accused certain party members of being compromised after allegedly collecting money to disrupt the primaries.

In the heated exchange, he urged them to search their conscience and stop sowing mischief for financial gain.

When SaharaReporters contacted the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Felix Morka, he said, 'I am currently not in Abuja at the moment. Thank you."

Meanwhile, the spokesperson for the Federal Capital Territory Police Command, SP Josephine Adeh, said she “will call to confirm as I am out of town at the moment, but let me confirm and get back to you".
