Their dismissal was dated Monday, 17th of November, 2025.

In military, a standing order is a general instruction or prescribed procedure that remains in effect permanently or until it is specifically canceled or changed.

It can also be a directive or instruction issued by a superior officer that remains in force until it is cancelled or modified.

It is not clear yet the "standing order" flouted by the four personnel which led to their dismissal on Monday.

The dismissal of the four soldiers also happened on the same day an army commander, Brigadier-General Musa Uba was confirmed to have been captured and killed by the ISWAP terrorists.

SaharaReporters last Saturday reported that top military brass including the Operation Hadin Kai, Theatre Commander, Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar, stormed the military base in Damboa, Borno State, to lead rescue operations for some abducted army personnel.

SaharaReporters had learnt that the abduction of the officers followed a violent ambush by fighters of the Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) that left two soldiers and two members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) dead.

SaharaReporters previously reported that ISWAP fighters ambushed a Nigerian military convoy late Friday night, killing multiple soldiers and members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), in northeastern Nigeria.

The attackers, armed and highly organised, targeted the convoy in what appears to be a coordinated strike, leaving a trail of casualties and panic in the region.
