Boko Haram Terrorists Ambush Military Patrol In Adamawa, Kill Seven Persons, Cart Away Soldiers' Motorcycles

Top sources told SaharaReporters that the troops were ambushed around 4pm on Thursday while attempting to recover the body of one of the civilians killed during the initial raid.

In a chilling resurgence of violence, Boko Haram militants launched a deadly assault on Madagali, a town in Adamawa State, killing seven civilians and ambushing a military patrol, injuring four soldiers.

The attackers also made away with four military motorcycles.

Top sources told SaharaReporters that the troops were ambushed around 4pm on Thursday while attempting to recover the body of one of the civilians killed during the initial raid.

Residents described the Wednesday night attack as harrowing, recounting how the terrorists stormed the northeastern town wielding heavy weapons and killing indiscriminately before being repelled by a combined force of soldiers and local vigilantes.

The attack occurred just two days after top national security chiefs, including National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, and heads of Nigeria’s intelligence agencies, visited the state for high-level security talks with Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.

Boko Haram fighters also reportedly attacked Hong Local Government Area, destroying grains and killing civilians—raising fears of a broader renewed offensive by the group.

Tensions are high as farmers flee their lands in areas bordering Borno State, fearing further violence.

Military authorities have not confirmed the two incidents as the spokesperson for the Nigerian Army did not respond to calls and a text message as of the time of filing this report.
