AVIC-KDN Airport Engineering Co., a global provider of end-to-end airport engineering and operations solutions, has signed a major sponsorship agreement for the inaugural Nigeria Air Show, reaffirming its commitment to the country’s fast-growing aviation sector.
The companies said in a statement on Thursday that the air show, scheduled for 2–4 December 2025 in Abuja, is the first of its kind in Nigeria and is expected to position the country as a regional hub for aviation innovation, partnerships and investment.
Since 2015, AVIC-KDN has delivered key infrastructure projects across Africa, including the rehabilitation and upgrade of Roberts International Airport in Liberia and major airfield and landside works in Angola. The company expanded its regional presence with the opening of its Nigerian office in 2024.
Speaking during a meeting with Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo, at the Dubai Air Show, Vice President of AVIC-KDN, Tim Chen, said the sponsorship reflects the company’s belief in Nigeria’s aviation potential and the growing confidence of international players in the market.
“There is strong global interest in Nigeria’s aviation sector,” Chen said. “Our presence in Nigeria reflects our long-term confidence in its aviation potential. As a major sponsor of the Nigeria Air Show, we are committed to supporting the evolution of the sector with world-class airport solutions, international partnerships, and the technical expertise needed to help Nigeria emerge as a regional aviation leader.”
The Nigeria Air Show aims to spotlight aviation as a driver of socio-economic development across Africa, with focus areas including cargo, defence, aerospace, tourism, aeromedical services and air transport.
AVIC-KDN supports airports across the full project lifecycle, from master planning and design to EPC delivery, Operational Readiness, Activation & Transition, IT and telecoms integration and long-term operational support.
The company also contributes to aviation development through ground-handling support, airline capability building and training programmes delivered in partnership with global aviation institutions.
