Pastor Isah, who is standing trial for allegedly raping a 14-year-old girl, is reportedly manoeuvring his way out of justice through bribes and backdoor negotiations with judicial officers.

Serious allegations of judicial compromise have emerged in the rape case involving Pastor Amos Isah, founder of the Prophetic Victory Voice of Fire Ministry in Gwagwalada, Abuja.

Pastor Isah, who is standing trial for allegedly raping a 14-year-old girl, is reportedly manoeuvring his way out of justice through bribes and backdoor negotiations with judicial officers.

Multiple sources familiar with the case told SaharaReporters on Tuesday that the embattled pastor is leveraging his influence and financial power to alter the course of justice.

Court Adjourns Rape Trial Of Popular Abuja Pastor Amos Isah, Accused Of Assaulting 14-Year-Old Girl

Initially slammed with a bail bond of N500 million due to the severity of the allegations and existing evidence, the court has now allegedly reduced the bail to a mere N5 million under suspicious circumstances.

A source close to the case revealed that the last time he appeared in court, the judge imposed a N500 million bail, which he couldn’t meet.

One of the sources said, "The pastor and his co-conspirators are doing all they can to release the pastor. The last time they went to court, they charged him a bail bond of N500 million.

"After several attempts, he couldn't meet up; however, today, they went to reduce the bail bond to N5 million naira, for a rape case for which the court has evidence that Amos cannot defend. The pastor or prophet, whatever they called him, cannot defend himself.

The source expressed deep concern over what they described as a complete breakdown of justice, accusing court officials of corruption and secrecy.

The source said even the victim’s parents were not informed. They just held a sitting and adjusted the bail conditions without notice.

According to the source, Amos is going from judge to judge, allegedly offering bribes to have the case dismissed.

One of the sources further alleged that Pastor Amos is not being held in proper custody but rather at Force CID, allowing him undue privileges.

Another source claimed health reasons were being used as a pretext to push for his release.

The source told SaharaReporters that Amos's co-conspirators say he has been coughing, so they are pushing for his release on bail.

However, the source said it’s all part of a grand plan to let him escape justice.

The victim’s family, according to those familiar with the matter, are feeling helpless as the case appears to be slipping out of control.

One of the sources said the way the case is going, there’s no justice in sight for the 14-year-old girl the cleric allegedly raped, unless Nigerians who value justice raise their voices.

"They alleged that Amos has been coughing, that is why they want to release him. Somebody that, if not because they have been compromised, are they supposed to be keeping him at Force CID?” the source asked.

"Even the parents of the girl are not being carried along; they will just sit, reduce the bail condition the way they want. If they release him now and he's walking freely, he has the power to fight this case," the source said.

Background

On July 17, 2025, SaharaReporters reported that Amos’s case had been adjourned to September 30, 2025, by the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court in Maitama.

The cleric faces grave allegations of raping a 14-year-old girl inside his church auditorium.

According to family testimonies, Isah allegedly lured the victim into the church’s newly constructed auditorium under false pretences, locked multiple doors to prevent escape, and sexually assaulted her.

After the attack, he reportedly gave her ₦3,000 for "medication" upon noticing she was bleeding and threatened to kill her and her family if she disclosed the incident.

Disturbingly, sources close to the victim’s family reveal that Isah had a long-standing pattern of targeting underage girls, often transporting them to secluded areas in his tinted-window car under the guise of spiritual mentorship.

"This girl is just one of many. He has been preying on minors for years," a relative told SaharaReporters.

Isah was arrested on June 18, 2025, after the victim’s father filed a formal complaint. Despite the completion of investigations by the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID), his arraignment was delayed for weeks, fueling suspicions of intentional stalling or external interference. Police initially denied him bail, citing the severity of the charges and pending legal advice.

The adjournment to September 30 follows his formal arraignment on July 16, with the court yet to rule on bail applications. Legal experts note that the case falls under Section 218 of Nigeria’s Criminal Code, which criminalises defilement of minors under 16, irrespective of consent, and carries a penalty of 14 years to life imprisonment.
