Sowore’s AAC writes Tinubu, seeks Aso Rock for campaign council inauguration
The African Action Congress (AAC) has formally written to President Bola Tinubu, requesting the use of the Aso Rock Presidential Villa for the inauguration of its national campaign council.
The party, led by Omoyele Sowore, made the request in a letter addressed to the President, citing the need for a neutral and symbolic venue to kickstart its political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The request is a strategic move to test the administration’s commitment to democratic inclusivity and to highlight the party’s readiness to engage in the political process at the highest level of governance.
The AAC leadership emphasized that as a registered political party, it is entitled to utilize public facilities for its activities, provided they follow due process and security protocols.
As of the time of this report, the Presidency has yet to respond to the request, which has sparked mixed reactions among political observers regarding the feasibility and implications of such a demand.
