2027: We’ll deliver Rivers, FCT for Tinubu, Wike insists

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has reiterated his commitment to ensuring that Rivers State and the FCT deliver massive votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.

Wike, who spoke during the unveiling of the Rainbow Coalition candidates in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, emphasized that his role as the coordinator for the ruling party’s campaign in these regions is straightforward and binding.

“I opened leadership today, and I saw my name, and I was told that I am going to coordinate FCT and Rivers. Simple, not too much work for me… Rivers and FCT will vote massively for Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”

The Minister challenged APC governors and other senior campaign figures to measure their success by their ability to deliver their respective states, noting that titles are irrelevant without electoral results.

Wike also urged members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) across the country to support President Tinubu’s re-election, arguing that the President has confronted problems that previous administrations avoided and deserves support to complete his work.

“Democracy is not that if the ruling party is doing well, because you are opposition, you say they are not doing well. That is not democracy.”

He further stated that he has already engaged with residents of the FCT, challenging any area council to claim they have not felt the presence of the President’s administration.
